The brief
A second-generation La Jolla jeweler was transitioning from traditional retail toward custom jewelry. The team worked with the business to identify operational pain points, assess customer-management tools, and strengthen online engagement.
How we approached it
Met with the client and relevant stakeholders to understand the custom-order workflow, business priorities, and desired social media direction.
Evaluated the existing BusinessMind POS/CRM setup, researched alternatives, and built illustrative dashboard concepts.
Presented a possible Airtable-based approach for tracking custom orders, attaching receipts, and connecting operations to inventory; also developed social media and hiring recommendations.
The recommendation
Our recommendation prioritized workflows that a small custom-jewelry business could maintain: a flexible customer/order system, clearer process ownership, and consistent social engagement. The client-facing presentation documents recommendations, not verified post-project business results.
My role
I participated as a project consultant on the client-facing team, including site engagement and weekly meetings. The deliverables and recommendations were developed collaboratively.
